Maui, HI (May 21, 2023) - Early on the morning of May 20, emergency responders were sent to the scene of an injury accident in Maui. The wreck happened at around 12:18 a.m. for reasons still being investigated by police. 

Sources say the collision occurred on Mahalani Street in Wailuku when at least two cars crashed. A female suffered injuries in the accident and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. 

Currently, she has not been identified. The Maui Police Department, fire crews, and EMS responded to the scene. 

The roadway was blocked for some time while crews worked in the area. Local motorists were urged to use alternate routes.
