Maui, HI (June 6, 2023) - On the afternoon of June 6, a car accident was reported to officials in Maui. Responders were seen helping at the crash site at around 2:00 p.m. 

What caused the collision has not been reported to the police at this time. At least one person suffered injuries in the wreck that occurred on the Honoapi’ilani Highway near the Lahaina Bypass. 

The Maui Police Department, Engine 3 firefighters, and EMTs were sent to the crash scene to help the people involved in the accident. Currently, no one involved has been identified. 

Police in Maui continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision. The highway was closed for some time on the afternoon of June 6 while emergency crews worked in the area.
